Unica acquires regional installation company Synto

04.11.2019

Hoevelaken / Goes (The Netherlands), November 4, 2019 – Unica, a Triton portfolio company and a technical service provider, has expanded its organization through the acquisition of installation company Synto. With the acquisition of Synto, specialized in project realization, technical management and maintenance of building-related installations, Unica will have a branch in Zeeland. Synto's activities fit in seamlessly with those of Unica Building Services. Synto also has other specializations of the Unica network, such as fire protection and security. Synto has been active for 35 years and, with more than 50 employees, is one of the larger and leading installation companies in the province of Zeeland. With the acquisition, Unica extends its management and maintenance network to 15 branches in the Netherlands.

The acquisition gives Unica a strong base in the province of Zeeland and enables the company to better serve customers in this region. In turn, Synto sees the connection with Unica as an important step to accelerate growth. The existing management team remains affiliated with Synto, which, like the other Unica Building Services locations, remains active as an autonomous site and thus retains its entrepreneurship.

John Quist, CEO of Unica said: "Synto fits perfectly with our company in terms of service and culture. There is a lot of entrepreneurship and we believe that Synto's strong position will enable it to grow considerably in Zeeland. We think that Unica can offer the company many extras. It is our sixth acquisition in the last three years, but the first in a long time focused on a denser network of locations. We are also focusing on other regions to expand the regional presence of Unica. However, the strengthening of our other business clusters also remains an important spearhead for new acquisitions. "

Synto has a strong regional brand recognition and reputation and continues to operate under its own name from the office in Goes in order to retain its recognisability in the market.

"As part of Unica, Synto can work together with other branches and specialized companies, which makes the realization of larger projects easier," said Marco Verbeek, managing director of Synto. "We can offer our customers a wider range of services and also benefit from cost efficiency and scaling up, but as an autonomous location we can also continue to serve the Zeeland regional market in a recognizable way. This helps us in our ambition to achieve a stronger and broader position and to take the next step as a leading regional installation company."
