Oslo (Norway), 13 February 2025
Since acquiring the company in 2014, Triton has transformed Flokk from a Nordic task chair specialist to the European market leader in office seating. This has been achieved by increasing its geographical reach, widening its product offering and customer base, and upgrading its digital business model. Today, Flokk has annual revenues of approximately NOK 5 billion (ca. USD 450 million).
Following acquisitions of 9to5 Seating (2019) and Stylex (2023), Flokk has built up its US business to now constitute 40% of total sales. The internationalisation of Flokk has enhanced the company’s robustness across business cycles and increased the exposure to the attractive US office seating market.
In total, Flokk has expanded by nine new brands supported by strategic M&A under Triton’s ownership.
Henning Karlsrud, Group CEO of Flokk, said: “Acquisitions are a key element of our growth strategy, and over the years, we have proved that we provide a nurturing home for some of the most innovative brands in the fragmented office furniture industry. Via Seating’s strength within the executive and task chair segment, combined with its emphasis on design, quality, ergonomics and sustainability, fit perfectly with our group strategy. Building on the success of our acquisitions of 9to5 Seating and Stylex in the US, we are thrilled to add Via Seating to our brand portfolio. Alongside our HÅG brand, this makes for a strong lineup in the US market.”
Joachim Espen, Investment Advisory Professional at Triton, says “This marks another important step on Flokk’s journey to become a global leader in office seating. From what began as a consolidation of the Nordic task chair seating market, Flokk is today continuing to move beyond its leading European office furniture manufacturer position by further expanding its North American presence. Via Seating is another great example of the successful execution of the company’s accretive buy-and-build strategy.'
